Why I built it.

  1. I usually need music when I’m doing important work, and also when I need my mind to relax through tedious tasks.

  2. But when YouTube Music started skipping non-stop, there was nothing I could do.

  3. I got so upset, my mood and creative flow broke instantly. I tried all sorts of browser gymnastics to stop it, but most of the time it simply didn’t work.

  4. I got tired of the constant annoyance and built a permanent solution. I wanted to never stop the music again, keep the audio live, and skip no more!

YouTube Music keeps skipping songs. Will this fix it?

That’s exactly what it’s for. When YouTube Music plays in a background tab, the browser can throttle or unload the tab and the playlist starts jumping to the next track again and again. The extension keeps the tab awake so the current song plays to the end.

Why does YouTube pause in a background tab and ask “Video paused. Continue watching?”

YouTube shows that prompt when it thinks nobody is listening, and browsers slow down tabs you’re not looking at. Skip Solution answers the prompt automatically and stops the throttling, so YouTube Music stops stopping.

Does it work with YouTube Music?
